The original Native 5 Lightweight Salt featured an ultra-corrosion-resistant LC200N blade and a bright yellow handle. To make it consistent with the color theme Spyderco has established with their other LC200N-bladed lightweight Salt folders, they have changed its handle color to high-visibility green. All other aspects of this high-performance knife are faithful to the original, including a full-flat-ground LC200N blade, a high-strength back lock mechanism, a linerless fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle with non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing, and a fully configurable four-position pocket clip. Available in both PlainEdge and SpyderEdge configurations, this lightweight tool delivers heavyweight cutting performance.

Replacement for tackle box knife
Lost my original Spyderco salt that I had for about 15 years. This new one seems to be just as durable. Love the bright green color although bright yellow was very visible when dropped in water. If this knife is just as durable as the original it will be worth the price hike. I think I paid $80 for the original one 15 years ago.

Love this knife, I waited 2 years for this to be available because of Covid. My knife of choice when I’m going to be around sand and water.
