Art that can cut and slice - Part 2
This is the first time I've ever written a second, follow up review about a knife. I work in an industrial manufacturing facility. I have a bunch of knives but normally I carry a Griptilian, a Hogue Deka or sometimes a Rat 1. When the 255L-GQ2 arrived I started using it at work. Opening packages, cutting strap, breaking down cardboard, wire stripping, cutting off tabs from CNC or 3D printed plastic parts, (normally done with an Exacto #11). I even use it for food prep at lunch and no, I don't bother to clean the blade beforehand. After several months I've only needed to strop it a few times to maintain a sharp edge. I bought it when it was on sale but even at the standard price, it's worth every cent. This is a phenomenally good knife.

Sometimes I buy knives based solely on how they look. In my opinion, this thing is gorgeous. I get tired of boring black handles and this handle is really fun. The sanmai blade is also a nice touch. It deploys fast and easy with either the cross bar or the thumb stud. It arrived with the blade perfectly centered and deadly, hair splitting sharp. I've got some $100+ knives that aren't as nice as this piece. SRM stands for "Stay Ready for More" and I'm definitely ready for more.

I like it but...
I use it as an EDC. It works very well for that purpose. The blade is super sharp from the factory (better than others I've received) and the locking mechanism works perfectly with no play in the blade. The only detractor is the handle material. I thought there would be some texture or weight to it but it feels like cheap plastic. It says it's G10, and maybe I don't know what that is supposed to feel like, but when I hold it I think "Lego". One other small thing are the thumb studs. Using your thumb it's fine. But trying to reverse flick it is difficult compared to other knives I own. The studs are smoother, more rounded and possibly just a hair smaller than I'm used to. So getting at it with my finger is more difficult.
