Fallkniven

The Model F2 Fisherman's Knife is one of the most modern fillet knives in the world. The blade is manufactured in the now famous laminated VG10 high carbon stainless steel, which guarantees high strength and exceptional edge retention. The sturdy yet slender blade is well-shaped and is designed for all varieties of fishing work, but also functions well for the rest of your outdoor life. The comfortable, hygienic handle in Thermorun offers a safe grip even when your hands are wet or slippery.

Fallkniven has instituted a rolling change for their VG-10 models – they are slowly being changed to VG-Wolf steel, a laminated steel that utilizes a VG-10W core. Steel may vary depending on availability and existing stock.

Poor quality
I bought this knife due to the compact size and supposedly high quality steel. I like the compact size, the sheath, and the blade sharpness. However, it is very prone to corrosion. It is so bad to the point that I wonder if I received a China knock-off. Will not buy again.

Fallkniven's most practical knife
The Fallkniven F2 is a high quality, simple & immensely practical fishing, boning, kitchen & utility knife. The knifes 2.5mm thick laminated blade makes it a good slicer, yet at the same time it's sufficiently strong. The knife is so light you barely realise you are carrying it at all. The sheath is compact, strong & elegant.Don't get me wrong Fallkniven makes some of the best knives in the world. But many of their knives are simply too thick & too heavy! For knife enthusiasts who are prepared to read between the lines, they discover in the F2 a bargain knife they will actually find themselves instinctively enjoying using. I have many Fallkniven knives and I find myself using the F2 more than any of my other models. My only con with the F2 is that it does not have a full tang with pommel as do other Fallkniven models!?

More than a Fillet Knife
Solid feel. Very sharp edge right out of the box. Thermorun handle provides a good non-slip grip. This knife will hold it's own compared to much larger fixed blade knives. I got the kydex sheath but prefer the leather which is no longer offered.
