TOPS Knives
A special mission expert officer Allen Garcia has been a police officer in Middletown, RI since 1988. Prior to that, he served as a Sergeant in the US Army's 82nd airborne division. The cutting edge features three deep serrated cutting surfaces at its base which, combined with its razor sharp, dual grind, tanto blade gives it excellent cutting capabilities.
The handle is configured to allow for a very secure grip. I found that the traction I could attain when gripping the knife in a standard hammer type grip was absolutely outstanding. Once you get this knife in your hand it is, for the most part, there to stay.
Kydex belt sheath is void of any retaining devices but, is molded to the knife and provides an excellent retention and flash fast drawing capabilities. It is nimble and easy to manipulate. I drove the knife through the tops of 55 gallon drums with nothing more than cosmetic damage. I liked this knife and found no obvious flaws with its design.
This is an excellent knife for the police officer or soldier that is looking for a super tough, dependable knife that is not overly large or cumbersome.

Excellent, excellent Knife...
I saw this knife and fell in love with it right away, but I finally got this knife after about a year of thinking it over. Once I had it, I wished I hadn’t waited so long! This knife is excellent. The blade is a full 1/4 thick, and everybody I show it to comments about how “beefy”, “strong” or “sturdy” it is. The entire design from the blade to the standard TOPS coating, to the G-10 grips are just flat out awesome. The blade design is also a perfect compromise for those who want both a plain and serrated blade as it has a small section of serration near the base of the cutting surface, with the large majority of the blade being kept plain. When you’re holding this knife, it absolutely feels like it locks into your hand, no matter what grip you’re using. The handle even has small textured sections (I wouldn’t call it jimping, as the tread is bigger than that) to index the knife correctly when you’re using it in the reverse or “ice pick” grip. If I HAD to pick any gripe with this knife, it would be that I would like it even more if the handle length was extended by 1 inch to 1.5 inches. There isn’t anything wrong with how it is now, but it would make it that much sweeter for how I like to use a fighting knife. I even use the kydex sheath it came with on a regular basis (a rare thing for me, as I think that most factory sheaths are garbage). I only had to slightly remold the kydex to give it a bit of solid hold and retention. For the money, this knife can’t be beat. It goes well beyond the term "durable". You can abuse it, use it and it’ll still be around for years and years to come. TOPS got it right with this knife and I plan on buying another soon.
