The Upswarm is a purpose-built self-defense knife designed for deep concealment and decisive performance in close quarters. Inspired by karambit handling but reimagined without a full finger ring, it offers a secure, adaptable grip in both forward and reverse positions, without the risk of finger entrapment. Its knuckle duster–influenced handle naturally locks into your hand, giving you confidence and control when it matters most. With a 3" main edge and an optional 1.63" top edge, the Upswarm is optimized for fast, efficient slashes and thrusts in tight, high-pressure situations. Crafted from tough, easy-to-maintain 1095 high carbon steel and paired with Black Canvas Micarta scales featuring Coco-Drillo tread, it maintains a reliable grip even in wet or stressful conditions.

Designed by Eric Mooney after an unexpected spark of inspiration during a sharpness test, the Upswarm is the result of over a month of refinement across more than fifty design iterations. Every detail, from the blade geometry to the balance point positioned in the first finger groove, was engineered to ensure smooth handling and seamless transitions between grip styles. The black Kydex sheath with a rotating spring steel clip allows for discreet, customizable carry, keeping the knife out of sight until it’s needed. Weighing just 4.3 ounces (6.3 with the sheath), it’s a lightweight yet formidable backup tool. Proudly made in Idaho and available in single or double-edge configurations, the Upswarm is built for those who demand reliability, control, and thoughtful design in their everyday carry.
