The Katla, designed by Jesper Voxnaes, is a liner lockfolding knife with a relatively compact size yet tactical tanto profile that we find very appealing. The Bohler M390 steel blade, hardened at 59-61HRC, provides excellent cutting qualities and opens smoothly with ball bearings and the thumb stud or nicely designed flipper. The action is crisp and authoritative and Jesper put a small finger choil on the blade for fine detail work. The smooth, flat scales allow for easy access in and out fo the pocket. The Katla is available in a number of different versions, all of which include a real bronze pivot ring and backspacer in addition to a titanium clip allow for comfortable and discreet carry.

A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
M390
A go-to option for premium knives. Made by Bohler-Uddeholm, this 3rd generation powder-metal alloy offers high edge retention and excellent stainless properties.

Wanted to love it, but it didn't perform for me
This is a beautiful knife. The blade and titanium scales are well done. But I was really looking for function here and the action was a real disappointment. It's hard to open by any means available and you have to use both hands to close it. At this price, in this competitive market, that just doesn't fly. I don't need a fall shut action, but it should at least drop with a bounce and with a flipper, it should deploy without a lot of force. Mine might have been the odd one, but it just didn't work for me.

Pros: 1) design, very user-friendly knife 2) quality parts 3) liner lock, easy access and away from action 4) detent, smooth action 5) fidget-friendlyCons: 1) pocket clip, works perfectly but a milled TI would've... 2) my blade edges were slightly off 3) pivot screw goes slightly loose after fidgeting, so needs some threadlockThis knife is actually very average quality except the M390 blade. But the design is up-to-date and details are well thought-out. Great quality and value for a production knife at this price range. I'm happy with this purchase.
