Really grows on you fast! Wasn't sure about the grip area but it is comfortable and really does fit well. Blade shape can do all sorts of cuts from basic cardboard to gutting an animal. Easy to use as a do-all type of knife and can definitely help protect you.Steele may not be some of the super stuff but stays sharp pretty well and comes nice and sharp. Definitely buy this if your looking for a medium type blade length that works really well
