A special, pliable abrasive-type eraser used to clean metal filings which accumulate during the sharpening process on the alumina ceramic Crock Stick sharpening rods. Don't know exactly.....
HOW it works, but it does. I had some surface scratches to buff out of SS rifle receiver and a handgun barrel, and they are gone. Nice "brushed" steel appearance blends perfectly.
