Brian Tighe is one of the most published knifemakers in the industry. His handmade knives regularly appear in or on the cover of BLADE Magazine, Knives Illustrated, and Tactical Knives to name a few because his tactical designs border on that fine line of being considered art knives. He works with top materials and manufacturing techniques, creating some of the best button locks available. Many of his customs are available as production pieces from CRKT and the quality for the price is amazing!

Canadian knifemaker and industry innovator Brian Tighe holds an extensive background in the tool and trade industry. He completed four college courses in metallurgy as well as having a solid foundation in design, construction and heat treating. He also benefits greatly from having skills as a professional photographer. Many photos of his work have been published in BLADE Magazine, Knives Illustrated, Tactical Knives and American Handgunner as well as David Darom's first book Art and Design in Modern Custom Folding Knives.
Brian has spent over 30 years honing his skills as a quality knifemaker having specialized in folding knives. In recent years, he's developed and introduced his button lock flippers like the Tighe Coon, Tighe One On, Twist Tighe Dagger, Tighe Breaker and the Tighe Rade with more to come.
Brian was awarded the Most Innovative Design award for the NIRK Tighe at the 2010 BLADE Show and again in 2012 for the Buy Tighe design. He enjoys working in varying styles as he finds the change challenging and refreshing. All his knives carry a distinctive Brian Tighe trademark look and support important design features found on each model utilizing space-age materials and exotic blade steels. He prefers to employ a combination of high-tech materials with high-tech styling. Most tactical models are made of titanium 6Al4V, scales/inlays are G10 or carbon fiber, blade steels range from BG 42, RWL 34, D2 and some A2. The art knives he produces have a combination of classic lines with a high-tech twist and a variety of scale materials are available including exotic woods, mother of pearl, mammoth tooth and fossil ivory. Brian enjoys working with Damascus steel and has found Damasteel to be the very best in every regard being the only powder metal stainless Damascus and producing the most constant results and patterns.
Brian takes great pride in the production of quality handmade. Beyond his custom knife work, Brian has worked on production collaborations with Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) and Spyderco Knives.
