The Bastinelli Red Folder is definitely a design to consider when looking for a new knife, no matter the applications you're looking to address. It's the folding version of their popular Red fixed blade, and it is absolutely awesome. Like the Dragotac models, you're getting a full length cutting edge to maximize the amount of usable blade you get in this knife. Measuring in at 3.5" of M390 stainless steel, the blade is placed, in relation to the handle, in a superb cutting position for slicing. The blade shape is a modified drop point with an unsharpened swedge near the tip, providing better stabbing capability. The handle is ergonomically comfortable and the edges are rounded to minimize hot spots which this knife creates very few of anyways. It's got buttery smooth action thanks to the IKBS system with very functional thumbstuds and sharp jimping on the thumb ramp. Ergonomically and visually, this is a stunning knife and the quality, being made by LionSteel (2014 BLADE Show manufacturing quality award winner), is definitely award worthy. This is one fine knife.

Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.

I have had this knife for about one year. Like many other knife owners, it is my EDC and does not see any "action" aside from cutting apples and other objects. I love the design, overall look, and balance of the knife. The half G-10/half titanium grip provides great strength, ergonomics, and balance. The blade holds its sharpness quite well, but will need to be sharpened for heavy use. The bearing in the blade makes for effortless deployment that lets out the bank vault "click" when the blade is engaged. The lockout is stiff as can be with zero play in it. The window breaker and nice spoon bill clip are nice touches that improve the overall utility of the knife. I would recommend to others.
