Designed by Ben Peterson, formerly of the Headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the Banter is named for the video series that he helped pioneer during his time there. Even years after he's been gone, the quality he brought to their videos remains. The Banter was his collaboration with We Knives drawing inspiration from other folding knives with the sole aim at being the perfect EDC piece. We think Ben succeeded and this knife was an impressive tool that hit a lot of marks right on the nose. Now it's available in a mini version, made by We's sister company to bring more value to this awesome design. 

First and foremost, the Baby Banter is an ideal size for everyday carry. The 2.34" blade is housed in a compact handle so the overall length is just a hair over five-and-a-half inches. The wide base gives you ample room to grip and places the cutting surface right next to the fingers for more leverage. It's a simple shape with simple aluminum and stainless steel liner construction but what it lacks in design aesthetics it more than makes up in terms of ergonomics and strength. It's comfortable, solid, and it just flat out gets the job done. Dual thumb studs allow multiple opening methods but the deep-carry pocket clip is set up for tip-up, right, and left-hand carry. The jimping on the thumb ramp is ultra-functional and the lanyard hole is large enough for 550-paracord. Ben thought of everything on the Baby Banter and we welcome it as a small yet strong force to be reckoned with in the growing realm of EDC knives.

The Baby Banter 2 adds complete ambidexterity to the knife with the reversible pocket clip and self-adjustable Crossbar Lock.

Excellent knife, not for large hands
Nice and small high quality for restrictive workplaces/jurisdictions or just not scaring people. I love the fit, finish, and how secure the blades feels. The only problem I have is that the crossbar lock is a bit stiff for the grip position you need to open it with one hand if you have large hands. If they sold this knife with one of their button locks instead It would instantly be the favorite knife in my collection

Better value than I expected!
I am a brutal EDC user, I've put Benchmade's, and Spyderco"s midlines through he** over the years. Times change, and so does value. The Baby Banter was exactly the size and blade I was looking for. It arrived and I was actually shocked by every aspect of this baby. The locking system is flawless, secure and no slop at all. The blade is as sharp as a scalpel, ( I do know). The grip is a perfect blend of form, feel and function. I don't want to get all misty, but this is an instant favorite. I hope it reasonably stands up over time.
