CIVC907DS: C907DS Damascus Elementum Folding Knife

CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they're into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it's honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market.

The C907 Elementum is a no-frills, straight down to business utility folding knife. It's a bit too compact to be used for self-defense but many of its design features pave the way for it to be an excellent EDC blade. These include the thin, ergonomic handle that provides no hots spots during use and a very simple utilitarian design. The drop point blade transitions into an ergonomic handle that seems to melt into the hand. The carbon fiber/G10 scales provide ample traction while the deep carry clip keeps it securely attached to your pocket. The Elementum was designed for and is capable of all-day use and at this price point, we highly recommend you put it through its paces.

Outstanding Classy EDC
The first thing I want to say is, I bought this version of the Elementum because I dislike D2 steel. I don't feel it takes as fine of an edge as most stainless steels do and I live in a high-humidity environment so rusting is a real problem for me, doing some research, I learned that Civivi used a 9Cr18Mo (Chinese 440C, not to be confused with 9Cr18MoV) and 10Cr15CoMoV (Chinese VG-10, similar to CR-10), which was a pure stainless Damascus. Naturally, I was curious about this, so I decided to pay the extra cash for this version. I put it into testing directly against a Kizer Infinity's N690 blade and a Sencut Scepter's 9Cr18MoV blade, and to my surprise, it held its edge better after 150 cuts through cardboard than either of the other steels, while it was no longer super hair shaving sharp, it maintained a very fine and effective edge, that was capable of slicing paper cleanly. The Damascus has held up BEAUTIFULLY against my local weather as well, not even discoloring slightly. The handle is a bit slick and I don't like loop-over pocket clip designs, but I can overlook those minor flaws for all the quality I get from the knife. All in all, this is a FANTASTIC knife and worth every penny, if you're worried about spending $90 on it, don't be, you'll love it.

Pros: Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Feel, Handle Material
Great Knife
Super action, shaving sharp out of the box, no blade play. Civivi killed it with this one. The handle is pretty, but not much to write home about. For what I'm using this knife for (edc for tape/boxes/twine) the handle is fine.

Awesome action and finish. Civivi gentleman carry
Civivi does this right. A beautiful Damascus blade with amazing action. I have bigger hams than DCAnderson, the handle runs a bit small for me. But the action, materials, and overall aesthetic of the knife is spot on from the advert. I get a three finger grip from the handle but if you aren't looking for elusively four finger grip than this is the knife for you!Elegant opening action and blade, maybe a bit small in the hand. I'd buy again.
