Not so good. I also own the g 10 version, which is great and works as intended. I liked it so much I decided to get one with micarta. It is very hard to open with the thumb stud, if not near to impossible most of the times. I can open it like a folder, but that is not its intended use. Even opening it that way, you can feel it wanting to stick shut. Micarta version also has a bit of pivot play. So maybe you get a good, maybe you don't. Roll the dice?

3 month as edcI love so much about this knife. The handle is what i expected, the blade material is better than i expected. Super slicy blade, elegant-ish open and closed. The clip that comes on this version is perfectYeah she is a looker.It took me over a week of fidgeting to get it to open 1 handed with any consistancy. The knife is small in my hands, but still, it seemed too difficult. This is a dangerous knife. The lock up is garbage. It has failed 2x now, im no longer carry this knife. Back to the 112 ranger.I hope to see this steel used in a knife with a better lock, crossbar perhapps.

***Update***
*Important Update*Had my first lock fail ever today with this knife. It very nearly caused injury and probably a pretty nasty one. blade came down hard and fast. I've used it for a few weeks now, and this was the first time it outright failed. This is why, I really wish the quick flick videos and KC knife reviews would show the lockup directly and talk about it openly when the lock is NOT solid. It's....barely ok. It does hold up 99% of the time. It's the one percent you have to worry about. $50 might be budget, but it shouldn't be THAT budget.It's sad too because there are SO MANY other things about this knife that are fantastic. I really like the steel (no it is not S30V, but for what this knife is, it doesn't have to be). I really like the action. It really does fly out just on a manual open. I really like the micarta. I really like the size and weight.But lock failure is NOT acceptable. If I hadn't used it so much, I'd ask for a refund.
