CR7081: Richard Rogers 7081 CEO Microflipper

CRKT

The CEO Microflipper is a knife that's dressed for success. At first glance, it could be mistaken for a pen tucked into a shirt pocket. And that's exactly the way the CEO Microflipper folding knife was designed. With a supremely low profile and no corners cut on usability and ergonomics, it embodies the working spirit of everyday carry. The color is fantastic - somewhere between blue and gray.

Known for his clean, simple, highly-usable designs, Richard Rogers releases another formidable knife from his shop in the scrubby hills of Magdalena, New Mexico. Created with dress shirt pockets and v-neck scrubs in mind, the slim, low-profile CEO Microflipper poses as a pen until a sealed letter needs opening or a suit needs a finishing touch. With lubed ball bearings in the pivot to reduce friction, a slim thumb stud sets IKBS in motion, quickly deploying the satin-finished stainless steel blade. A locking liner keeps it securely in place between the sleek and lightweight aluminum handle with blue liners and clip.

The CEO Microflipper: pairs best with an extra dark roast and a long to-do list.

4/5 starts for a great minimalist EDC
This knife does everything well including being solid in the hand for such a small knife. I'm not the biggest fan of executive style knives for EDC, but when needing to keep things much more subtle with your pocket knife, this works well. Blade takes a good edge and has reasonable durability, though I've never overused it or tried to abuse it. The flipper is easy and stays solid when blade extended. Only drawback are less-than-rounded corners at the butt which can dig into your hand a bit if you just want to put your hands in your front pockets. I had to adjust the clip after a period of time as it start to bend and create too much of a gap when in use... loosey goosey on the pocket., but that was easy to do.
