Description

CR7271: Philip Booth 7271 Ripsnort II

CRKT

The antithesis of delicate. Sometimes you need a thin-as-a-razor, low-profile companion for fine-tuned tasks. This is not one of those times. The Ripsnort II everyday carry is as beefy as it gets; the big a** blade is modeled after a cleaver. And it shows.

Designer Philip Booth grew up watching sparks fly in his father's tool and die shop, and he's since made a serious name for himself from his own in Ithaca, Michigan. Surrounded by everyday carry folders replete with drop point blades, Philip decided to crumple up the go-to blueprint and make something totally different. Enter: the Ripsnort II. A cleaver-like blade owns the first impression, but the black handle with a stainless steel accent isn't far behind.

With a powerful knife comes a secure lock up when the blade is open thanks to the burly locking liner. Once open, the flipper tab almost disappears and doesn't intrude on handling the blade.

Put this one into action, and watch butchers everywhere flush with envy.

A Bruiser of a knife...
This knife is a whopper. A big ol' blade & a big grippy handle. Not a bad thing. Sometimes you need to do more than just cut a thread off your sweater in Starbucks. This will raise some eyebrows & that's fine. This is a "working" knife, able to tackle heavy cutting chores & easy to sharpen when it gets dull. Easy to open with gloves. Great fit & finish with good steel for this price point. S35VN steel would be awesome here but... I carry this knife on days when I know I'll be abusing a blade. This one holds up just fine. A lot of knife for the $$.
