Cold Steel

The original "Black Talon" was a revolutionary knife in many ways. Handmade and limited edition, it featured a modified curved talon blade made from Japanese San Mai steel, a sleek titanium frame with G10 scales and - for its time - a very strong locking mechanism.

Cold Steel fans have been clamoring for them to bring back this classic and iconic blade, and now they are proud to announce a redesigned knife that they have christened the Black Talon II!

A design collaboration between Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson and custom knife-maker Andrew Demko, the Black Talon II is a modern masterpiece!

Its sinuously curved, needle sharp blade still features the distinctive down-swept point and pronounced belly of the original, but with high-end American S35VN super-steel and a redesigned tip for additional strength and durability.

The textured premium USA G10 scales offer maximum retention and grip even in cold or wet conditions while still being kind on your clothing when drawn from the pocket.

The contrast between the deep black of the scales and the exquisite rich satin polished blade further emphasize the flair and style of this good-looking and elegant folder.

Featuring Cold Steel's high-performance Tri-Ad locking mechanism for added safety and strength, this thin, lightweight and eye-catching knife is sure to be the talking point of anyone's collection!

Excellent knife
This knife is made for cutting things open with nasty long cuts. Great and intuitive design for self defense.  Many never point this out.

Nice Blade
I got this after i got the spyderco matriarch emerson, because i like the blade shape, It is a sharp blade out of the box, its a big enough knife and it isnt too light, if you are using it as an EDC you definitely will know its in your pocket, handle is grippy, the lock is a bit stiff, not too smooth, but maybe it just needs to be used more, i have not had it long, it needs a good press to close it, but its really not a big issue, this knife looks very intimidating, if used for self defence i think it would be very good. im glad i got it.

Best and sharpest self defense knife you can buy
Recently I was searching for a self defense knife, and after checking both Spyderco Civilian, Matriarch and this, I picked up this one. The main reason is simple, I need a knife that wave open fast out of pocket, and the maximum cutting power, the Black Talon have all of these feature I needed. Upon arrive, I try to touch the edge of the blade, and surprised to find out it is the sharpest knife I ever own, it cause pain without putting any pressure, those serration are sharp like needle. It is a good product, but also with some down side, I can't open it using the thumb plate with one hand, maybe because my hand is smaller, however I can easily flip open the knife with one hand. Another down side is the pocket clip is too tight, make it even impossible to clip in the pocket, maybe I will fix it someday...
