FT14640: Garberg Grand - Black

Morakniv

The Morakniv Garberg Grand is the ultimate evolution of Morakniv's renowned bushcraft line. Developed for advanced wilderness use, this large, full-tang survival knife is built to handle the toughest tasks, including heavy-duty work like felling small trees.

It features a robust 5.59" clip point blade made from German Carbon Steel (C100S), hardened to 57-58 HRC. The premium black DLC coating minimizes reflection and offers enhanced protection against corrosion. The full-tang construction provides unparalleled strength, with an exposed rear tang perfect for batoning or striking a fire starter. The spine is also ground specifically to be ferro-rod compatible, ensuring you always have a spark.

The knife’s dark brown handle is ergonomically shaped with a signature Dala-pattern friction grip and finger guard, guaranteeing a secure and firm hold in all conditions. It comes complete with a high-quality, vegetable-tanned European leather sheath.

Made in Mora, Sweden, with over 130 years of knife-making tradition.

The names that tell their story: Garberg

Many small cottages and barns. The cattle graze on the plot outside and every morning starts before sunrise with milking the cows or goats. This was the scenery of the Swedish 'fäbod', a place where people historically spent their summers working and let their cattle run free in the surrounding nature. Every village had their own 'fäbod', many times even two or more. This way, their ancestors could walk with their cattle from one settlement to another during the summer. In the region around Mora, there have always been many 'fäbodar' and many of them still exist today.

One of these 'fäbodar' is called Garberg. It originally belonged to the village outside of Mora where their factory's located today and all their knives are made, at the shore of a large lake. Here, people have been working hard for centuries, facing the challenges of nature and the demanding self-sufficient life. To name the full tang knife Garberg, after the place and the people who lived there, is Morakniv's way of paying tribute to their roots. The Garberg knife--the proud, strong and hard working tool that gladly faces every challenge--is their interpretation of the life once lived at the 'fäbod' of Garberg.

I love this knife. I like it better than the Garberg. The blade is shaped different than its older little brother. I love it. Leather sheath is amazing too. Hope it goes down in price one day. I cant help it. I am a Morakniv fanbooooiiii.

The perfect Morakniv. Hands down.
This one replaced the original garberg carbon. The extra blade length makes the knife more usable but still small enough to not be a burden for edc. If they added another millimeter of thickness on the spine and offered a kydex option for the sheath I wouldn't complain, but for a general purpose bushcraft knife it really does a wonderful job and although I don't favor leather as much, the sheath is nicely finished.
