JBILENF: Import Line Enforcer Folding Karambit

Brous Blades

The Import Line brings a new level of value to the ever-growing Brous Blades product line. We were astounded once we had them in our hands to feel the quality these knives possess. It's like you're getting an American-made Brous product with nicely textured Zytel scales which we find very appealing. The action, blade steel and frames, apart from their all-titanium counterparts, are the exact same as the more expensive models they are based on. If you're on a budget, looking to get a great gift for a friend, or just getting into knives and are looking for that perfect combination quality and price, you've found it in the Import Line from Brous Blades.

The Enforcer is Brous Blade's first folding karambit with an aggressively shaped talon blade made from D2 tool steel. Jason has carefully designed the Zytel handle to fit your hand perfectly for standard or reverse grips. The one-inch finger hole works well for any size hands. The Enforcer has a full Zytel backspacer with a raised gear pattern for maximum grip. The top flipper design gives this knife one of the fastest and strongest actions Brous has ever made. The specially designed liners are skeletonized to reduce weight without compromising strength. The Enforcer utilizes the proprietary Brous Bearing System for a smooth and quick deployment. The pocket clip is right hand carry only and leaves the finger hole exposed for quick access. For the money, there is absolutely not a better knife on the market, so you can buy an Import Line Brous with the utmost confidence.

Very Impressed
The thing that sold me on this blade was the ability to carry left hand and deploy with a reverse grip. The site states (and pictures) right hand carry only for standard grip. The configuration shown is perfect for left hand reverse grip deployment. But mine did come with a second pocket clip for the opposite side, so hammer or reverse grip is possible from either pocket. The wave-style opening is perfect. Catches every time. I purchased this as a self defense option due to firearm restictions at my place of employment. It conceals well, with only the ring visible from the pocket. Completely satisfied, and now the wife wants one too. Getcha one before they're gone.

Worth Trying
The fit and finish are nice, decent sharpness out of the box, lockup is solid, all in all it's a good knife. This isn't a general purpose EDC, it's probably about the last knife I would pull out for food prep, etc. It is excellent at ripping slices like most hawkbills, and that 90 degree offset from the palm really lets you lean in and through cuts. The handle is large and a bit chunky, it takes a lot of space for in-pocket carry. I find the shape forces my hand into only one grip for tip up and one for tip down. It's not a big issue since it's intuitive to index, very effective once it's there, and really locks into the hand. The blade rockets out when those teeth on the spine catch on clothing during a waved opening. They are actually pretty sharp, I can see that they will chew threw cloth pretty quickly. The blade only travels through a roughly 100 degree arc, unlike a traditional folder where the blade travels a full 180--so it snaps out FAST. If you don't want to wave it open to spare your pocket, the flipper tab is mostly vestigial and hard to use. This is probably the best karambit for the price out there. It's solidly made, holds an edge, and the design makes it highly improbable that I would lose a finger if the spine got a hard whack. This one is totally worth it.
