The old Finn, John Fish (his nickname, his real Finnish name, like Marttiini, has a bunch of extra letters thrown in, 'till you don't know what your saying), and I have been fishing and hunting together since we were young boys. Sometime, in our teens we both purchased Marttiini fillet knives. Those knives have processed a mountain of crappies, walleyes, bluegills, trout, and other game fish, and have carved many a Thanksgiving turkey, too, over the last 40, plus years, and are still our, "go-to," fillet knives. This winter I was over helping the old Finn do some indoor painting, and noticed his old Marttiini fillet knife in his dish drainer, looking worse for wear (just like mine). I knew then, what I would get him for his upcoming birthday. So I got him a new Marttiini fillet knife (still the same after all these years) and I thought, I'll sweeten the pot with a nice Finnish Puukko (see what I mean about the extra letters thrown in). When I saw the Lynx, I knew that was the one, if only for the beautiful folk art on the sheath. But when it arrived, I found it to be one of those knives where the pictures do not do it justice. The polished chrome blade is just gorgeous. The grip feels like it was born in your hand. I could tell the proud, old Finn was quite pleased when I gave it to him on his B-day. I said I was gonna get me one, too (and I was, when I could fit it into my knife budget). He showed it to several friends that stopped by for a beer, and they all went gah-gah over it, and said they were going to get one, too. I stopped by for a beer after work the other day, and he had a B-day present for me: a beautiful Lynx. >>>>>>>>>> Great hunting, camping, meat processing, mushroom + asparagus hunting knife. Comfortable and ergonomic. Arrives sharp, takes an edge extremely well. Their stainless is very forgiving. Gorgeous folk art sheath. My Lynx is hanging proudly in the kitchen. There's a reason this knife hasn't changed since 1932, 'cause they got it right.
