A camp knife that is at home in the kitchen, the USA-made Nordsmith Canteen Knife delivers cutting performance no matter where you are. Envisioned by Founder David C. Andersen, this handcrafted blade was designed to make quick work of any camp or culinary task. Whether you are carving wood or carving turkey, the Canteen Knife delivers.

The broad, Nessmuk-inspired blade with high, flat grind offers enough clearance to make rocking chops on a cutting board, but is still agile enough for fine woodworking. CPM-154 stainless steel provides a great combination of toughness and edge retention for hard use applications.

The versatile blade allows for use in many different environments. In addition to campers and cooks, the Canteen Knife has found its way into the hands of overlanders, hunters, survivalists, and collectors too!

With handles made from canvas Micarta, the full tang Nordsmith Canteen Knife offers plenty of grip, even in wet conditions. A flared pommel allows the user to securely choke back on the handle for added leverage in chopping situations, working well on smaller branches or in the kitchen when using it as a meat cleaver. The tip of the knife also resides on the center axis with the pommel, making bushcraft easy when using the tip for drilling.

The Nordsmith Canteen Knife comes equipped with a black-dyed leather sheath made by JRE Industries, providing function, versatility, and style. It is equipped with a dangler attachment (allowing the sheath to be carried low or high on the belt) and a fire steel loop that will accommodate a 3/8" ferrocerium rod for fire-starting on the go. The integrated snap loop stays out of the way when drawing the knife, and is tucked behind the handle to avoid snags from accidentally opening the snap.

The Nordsmith Canteen Rocks!
Ever since I saw the Nordsmith Canteen reviewed on YouTube several years ago, I have wanted To add one to my collection. Once I heard that this knife was going to be available on KnifeCenter, I jumped at the chance to purchase one. The right hand carry sheath is solidly constructed leather, with a dangler that can be either dropped down, or removed if belt carry is preferred. The firesteel loop is sized for a 3/8" rod. The Exotac FireROD fits with it's top nestled just below the top edge of the sheath opening. The snap placement holds the knife securely in the sheath & positioned along the base of the handle, with the top snap`s leather facing to the body, which greatly reduces the chance of an accidental unsnap. The LT Wright constructed knife came razor sharp on the blade & the spine was 90 degree from the point to within 1 cm of the handle. This is crowned here for applying additional pressure with your thumb while cutting. Don't use your index finger on the spine on the 90 degree corners to apply pressure. I discovered that the ground spine is sharp enough to cut through a fingerprint on both sides of the spine. As I found out, the pinch grip handle cutouts are there for a very good reason! The knife is balanced & lends itself to nimble, comfortable use when choked up towards the blade & the handle is comfortable with no hot spots in any way it is gripped, including at the end for light chopping. From point to pommel, I have absolutely no regrets in purchasing this wonderfully designed & well constructed knife. I own many fixed blades & this is my all time favorite Camp, Bushcraft & kitchen knife. Every time I've finished using this knife, before I put it away, I find myself looking around for some other excuse to use it.
