Bit of a disappointment
This Beagle was a bit of a disappointment. I have another Oknife Drever which is great in all respects. This knife has some build problems. I like the looks of this Medium/Full size, thin lightweight, Harpoon, dual thumb stud flipper pocket folder knife.Beautiful bright satin ground finish on the ingot 154CM Harpoon shaped blade.The handle scales are flat slab sided with radiused edges, set slightly below the liner edges which can be felt when holding the knife. Matte Olive Green Micarta is slightly slick. Mounted with two (2) black spools and T-6 Torx mounting screws.The blade spine has thumb jimping at the ricasso which is very comfortable.Blade can only be opened using the dual thumb studs. No flipper tab.Crisp opening detent. The blade snaps open but with a very light lock up.Light and very early closing detent. Blade can be wrist flicked open due to light detent. Blade has a ‘Drop Shut Guillotine’ action and is very smooth.Cons:Knife exhibits some handle side flex typical of knives using thin liners and micarta scales like these.Liner edges are mounted proud of scale edges. Feels a little weird.The flat slab sided Micarta scales are somewhat slick when dry.The lock exhibits slight ‘Lock Rock’ after a normal light opening event. Need to increase the liner lock tension. Lock releases sometimes after light reverse taping on the blade.
