OP002388: N08 Folding Knife, Stainless Steel - Laminated Birch

Opinel

The Opinel N08 is the most popular and versatile size in the ever-growing line of Opinel folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3.25" blade is capable for most all of your cutting needs. The handles are made of laminated birch wood and may expand and contract with extreme humidity (or lack of) and will temporarily affect the mechanism. The blade is made from 12C27 Sandvik Stainless steel, which will not rust, however, try to avoid leaving your Opinel knife in damp environments for too long and dry the blade after each use.

Safety

  • This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife. The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.

Wow, I'm a believer!
Great knife I totally misunderstood. I thought Opinel was a budget knife not good for hard use. Boy, I was wrong. Besides being a beautiful knife, it's great for utility work. Good sandvik steel and tight tolerances. The locking collar is solid and easy to use. Fit and finish reflect quality.
