Opinel Knives

The Opinel N08 is the most popular and versatile size in the ever-growing line of Opinel folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its 3.28" blade is capable for most all of your cutting needs. Padouk wood is attractive and ultra-resistant, and comfortably contoured to fit the hand. The blade is made from 12C27 stainless steel, guaranteeing the strength of the cutting edge, resistance to wear, and ease of sharpening.

Safety

  • This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife.The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.

Smaller Opinel
I have always liked Opinel's knives. This one has a beautiful handle and feels sturdy, as these knives always do, especially given their price. I will use it for utility kitchen and work, cutting and carving fruit, maybe for a pumpkin this month, and it is of a size where it is okay for pocket carry for me. Another good addition to my collection!

Classic carry
This is a light knife. That can be good or bad. I actually like it being light weight and carries well in the pocket. I keep it in a leather pocket holster so that it doesn’t fall horizontal in my pocket. The wood quality is excellent and the polish on the blade is mirror quality. It came razor-sharp and yes the blade stock is thin but it’s perfect for EDC and food prep.It does take a little bit of time and two hands to unlock open and relock and use. But that’s what’s cool about the knife. Everyone that has seen it has wanted one also. It’s a timeless classic pocket knife that everyone should have as a knife collector.
