Avispa is Spanish for Wasp and this frame lock folder is an aptly named large brother to the awesome Zancudo folder. The Avispa was also designed by the survival experts over at ESEE Knives, Mike Perrin and Jeff Randall, and produced by Blue Ridge Knives. It features the same spear point blade shape but in a larger, more capable 3.5" size. With this larger blade, they needed a larger handle and what better knife platform to go with than the awesome Ontario Rat 1. It's a very ergonomic handle that's great for tactical applications and comfortable during prolonged use. The only knock on the Ontario Rat 1 was that it was always a liner lock and never developed into a frame lock. Well, wait no longer - the Avispa is here. The absence of the extra handle scale has produced an extremely slim profile and easy to carry knife with the Avispa. The pocket clip is reversible to all four positions and the knife weighs in at 4.4 ounces. It's another folder we're very excited about here at the KnifeCenter because it gets almost everything right in a folding knife at a price point you're sure to be pleased with.
Zytel Handles
A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.

Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
AUS-8 Stainless Steel
Offering entry-level to mid-range performance, this Japanese-made stainless steel is easy to maintain and has a long history of high quality.
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.

Great piece of gear. Very sharp out of the box but still gave it some attention with a hard Arkansas and then a black Arkansas with fantastic results. Great knife.

I buy way to many knives and have bought some expensive (very nice) ones...I am a little leery of carrying them though...When I saw this knife and the price, I figured what the heck...I am very impressed...Solid lockup and well centered...A little large for some folks...Sharp out of the box...Really like the color also...Slim and clip allows for tip up carry...For the money, I would be hard pressed to recommend a better knife.
