The blades are made of hi-tech ceramic, which is 100% non-magnetic and provides outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance. This does present the issue of brittleness in the blade with it being such a hard ceramic material. It is more prone to chipping and breaking in lieu of rolling or bending so be very careful what you cut with these knives.
