The SOG FastHawk is faster, lighter, more agile, and easier to carry than its sibling the Tactical Tomahawk. This is not to stay it is not still powerful, versatile, and functional. It is a tool that will be used for much more than you might anticipate. Chopping, breaking, cutting, hammering, piercing, digging, prying, pounding shaving, notching, opening and throwing are all capabilities well within the FastHawk's reach.

The 420 stainless steel head with a Hardcased black coating is mounted to the ballistic polymer handle with heavy-duty bolts and a steel ferrule to insure the strongest integrity. Side hammer checkering insures precision placement when swinging. Carried in a nylon sheath that can be mounted to belt, backpack, or gear. It is a universal tool for modern man.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Exactly what I was hoping for
Super sharp. Great feel. I do wish the back was sharpened but this is a well made tool. I would buy this again.

Too small/tiny
I bought this Tomahawk years ago as my first. In hindsight I should have shopped around more. It looks cool, and is extremely light. However, besides throwing at trees I really can't figure out where it excels except possibly digging roots? I've since purchased a Cold Steel Rifleman's axe and a CRKT Kangee [sp?] Know as they might say in a movie, "now these latter tools are Tomahawks!"

Niche tool.
Pros: Very lightweight, wieldable, handy sheath. I often use a caribiner to attach it to my backpack while hiking. It probably works best for its design - a tactical tool. Cons: Too small to use for chopping except for clearing tiny branches or woodchipping.
