Stout work knife
This is my every day carry knife.I have owned it for 2 years. It is always clipped onto my belt. When i first got it i noticed the secondary edge bevel was very steep.I reprofiled the edge with a file and diamond hone, followed by my gerber sportsman steel.it now has a moran style convex edge, and cuts like you wouldnt beleive.I work in a saw mill and use this knife every day, cutting hard plastic banding straps, twine ties for our lathe, boxes .it has been used and abused but never fails.superb edge holding ,durability, convenience.excellent knife.

Great concept - Flawed Production
I bought mine for hard use our in the Scottish Highlands (UK) and although it's nicely made (except the sheath) it was totally blunt.... I mean, I have sharper screwdrivers! I contacted TOPS and aksed them for advice on reprofiling and generally thought they might be interested in constructive feedback from a serious and vastly experienced user and knife collector.... I was wrong... they could care less and were actually quite rude in emails. So not only would I not ever recommend this knife, but I would never recommend supporting such an arrogant organisation. Overpriced knives with shocking quality control from an arrogant manufacturer.Avoid!

Thick little SOB
I bought this blade for BSA outings with my son. I had been looking for a small fixed blade made to put up with harsh abuse, so naturally I turned to TOPS. Now, intuitively, I know that a .25" blade is thick, but its hard to gauge just how thick the edge will be until you get it. Normally, this thickness of blade spine requires a long, wide blade in order to be ground to a tolerable edge thickness. Since this blade is so short, the edge is left extremely thick. So thick, in fact, that "box cutter" could not be more inappropriate. Now, I like TOPS, but this blade should have been 3/16ths thick and lightly hollow ground to allow for a strong, yet razor sharp edge. I gave this beast a '3' because It will hold up to hard use - its .25" thick afterall - the fit and finish were excellent - though the sheath leaves something to be desired - and it looks slick, but it would be better suited as an unsharpened prybar/shank than the necker it is marketed as.
