Closest yet to ideal EDC
I bought this as an EDC. While I already have a number of them, I was looking for a knife that had a blade shorter than 3.5 inches, that looked elegant rather than aggressive, that was easy to open with one hand, and that had a blade that would hold an edge well. Looks: I think that the knife has great lines. FWIW, the blue on some parts is much more muted than in the KnifeCenter photo. Blade: Satisfyingly sharp out of the box. I'll see how it holds up. Opening: The part you flip is shorter than in most other flippers. This improves the looks, but it does result in less leverage for opening. Once it starts, it is just fine, with a good solid opening and secure locking into place, but getting that first little bit is not as easy as in other flippers I have used. Partly this seems to have resulted from the lubrication, which seems to aggravate the initial stickiness; when I cleaned the lubrication off as best I could and applied new lubrication to the pivots, again cleaning off the other moving parts, it worked better. Opening may also get easier as the liner breaks in or my finger gains strength. By the way, I like the liner lock, because I have found that frame locks present the opportunity to hold the knife so that it will not open; here, you can hold the frame as tightly as you want wherever you want, and it will have no effect on opening.All in all, I am quite pleased.
