VSDNSK001: Vosteed Nightshade Flipper - Black Micarta w/ Copper

Vosteed Knives

The Nightshade is inspired by the Shilin Cutter. A full flat ground leaf shape blade, with a pointy negative angled tip, and more than hundreds of knife lovers have proved it to be perfect for slicing, push cut, and draw cut. The blade is made from Elmax stainless steel for good toughness and corrosion resistance. Caged ceramic ball bearings and a fine-tuned detent provide a snappy action. Subtle milling on the lock release bar and extra room for disengaging the lock allow for even large hands to comfortably disengage the liner lock. The handle is slightly curved and the flared end fits the hand comfortably. The knife comes with a deep carry stainless steel pocket clip for reliable carry. This model features a jimped flipper tab for easy opening and metallic bolsters to add a variety of appearances.

Update: sweet, but not perfect
I've carried and used this knife for a couple of days since my first review, and I have to be honest -- it's not perfect. My complaint is about the little "choil" at the base of the blade. Not only is it too small to be used as a choil, but its sharp corner snags and grabs what you're cutting, defeating some of the benefits of that beautiful, wide, slicing belly.I was opening bags of bird seed with it today, and each cut had to be repeated two or three times after that corner grabbed the bag and stopped the cut. That never happens with my Spyderco knives.The smooth opening action is great. I love the blade shape, weight, and size. But that sharp little corner on the choil might knock this out of the EDC running for me. 😪

Very impressed
Mine is the copper bolster. Elmax blade is shaving sharp out of the box. Full flat grind. Very slicey. Crowned spine with nice jumping.The liner lock has great access and is textured for more grip. And the action is outstanding. The action is drop shut. Not shaking, but drop shut. No hangup anywhere on the way closed. Flipper works great. Nice detent. Blade hole makes reverse or thumb flick easy. Deep carry pocket flip is fine.Fit and finish is great. Blade centers perfectly. This one will definitely go in my rotation. Super impressive for a knife at this price point. Highly recommend.

Wow!
Just received mine today. I love the feel, the smooth action, and the big slicing belly.I am almost NEVER happy with out-of-the- box blade sharpness when I buy a knife, but with this one, I am.My only complaint is that the choir is too small. I can see easily injuring a finger ifnI used it.This one is going straight into my EDC rotation.
