How do you open the CIVIVI Button Lock Elementum?
You open the CIVIVI Button Lock Elementum by depressing the lock button and deploying the blade with a brief flick of the wrist. Since this series lacks a flipper tab or thumb studs, the button lock must be held down to allow the blade to swing out. The opening and closing actions are tuned to be highly fluid and fidget-friendly.
What steel is used on the CIVIVI Button Lock Elementum?
Most models in the CIVIVI Button Lock Elementum series feature Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, though select premium variants are available with Damascus steel. The shift to Sandvik 14C28N provides excellent corrosion resistance and allows the hollow-ground blade to take and hold a very fine, skinny edge.

The Button Lock Elementum differs by featuring a larger 3.47-inch blade, a button lock instead of a liner lock, and no flipper tab. It also upgrades the blade steel to Sandvik 14C28N, adds a reversible pocket clip, and extends the neutral handle profile slightly to better fit larger hands.
