CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they're into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it's honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market.

The original Elementum was a no-frills, straight down-to-business utility folding knife. It was a bit too compact to be used for self-defense but many of its design features paved the way for it to be an excellent EDC blade, one of the best around, and CIVIVI's best in our opinions. This was mainly thanks to the thin, ergonomic handle with no hots spots during use and a very simple utilitarian design. The drop point blade transitioned into an ergonomic handle that seemed to melt into the hand while the textured scales provided ample traction and the deep carry clip kept it securely attached to your pocket. The Elementum was designed for easy carry but some wished it was a little larger and more capable as a tactical blade...enter the Button Lock Elementum.

For this design, CIVIVI not only changed up the lock type but also went with Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel for the blade and lengthened the design about an inch overall. This makes for a completely different knife, in the same footprint that we all know and love, but this one is just downright better. The Sandvik blade will take a razor-sharp edge and provides excellent stainless properties making this a great outdoorsman's knife. The pocket clip is now reversible for left-handed users, however, the button lock still favors righties. The lanyard post is now hidden on the backspacer - which is an excellent design choice, and the only thing that might make it better is a flipper tab. The Button Lock Elementum is ready for all-day use, tactical scenarios, and the outdoors while remaining one of the best, most capable knives at this price point.

Form follows function
You get a lot of blade for this light weight. It is elegant both open and closed. No wasted angles or shapes on the handle or blade. The lozenge shape fits nicely in the pocket. Sure the scales are flat slabs, but there is not a rough edge on it. Seems like it has nothing to prove -- there are no logos etched on the blade. It opens and closes with a subtle wrist movement; no flick needed. It just is what it seems and does what it should.

Fidget Heaven!
This is a 3.5” Sandvick blade with a button lock that makes it unable to put down. Light fills the palm and the action is like water over glass. These are a must have price point superstar!
