What steel is used in the CRKT Pilar series?

Some variants also feature Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. Models using D2 steel often include a blade coating because D2 is a semi-stainless steel that requires more maintenance to prevent corrosion than standard stainless options.
How does the Pilar Large differ from the original version?
The Pilar Large increases the blade length to approximately 2.7 inches and introduces a flipper opening mechanism for faster deployment. While the original Pilar relies on a thumb slot for manual opening, the Large and subsequent iterations like the Pilar III and IV offer more variety in opening styles and handle materials, including G10 and copper.
