Bear Ops

Combining all their previous knowledge of knifemaking Bear Ops has introduced the next model of their automatic knife lineup. The Bold Action V AUTO folder is sized perfectly for EDC (every day carry) and can tackle any job you throw at it. The handles are CNC'd black and green G10 with great fit and finish. They are not only comfortable to hold but provide good traction when in use. The 3.2" Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel blade is deployed with the simple yet firm press of the button which is also used to unlock the blade. The safety prevents accidental blade opening when not in use, as well as closing when in use. The pocket clip can be positioned for left or right-handed tip-up carry.

On the fence.
Middle of the road for me. Love the knive itself but I’ve had some issues. Accidentally dropped it (kitchen floor) taking out of my pocket. The blade would not recess back in all the way. Should not happen with a new knife falling 3/2 feet. Didn’t wanna open either without pushing the blade in first. I contacted Bear & Son and sent it in for repair. Had some questions about the lock when I got it back. Called and later talked to Mr. Griffey himself. He explained the lock had been replaced with a newer version. This was in Oct 23’. Lock loosened up and has been fine since. But has loosened to the point it won’t stay locked or slides in lock position by itself. Was told to send it back in but at this point don’t know if it’s worth paying for shipping again. Probably cut my losses and stick with other knife brand I’ve had ten years with no issues.

A Beast !
An EDC knife very solid , well made auto.Should have the steel type etched into the blade and would be nice to have a cover plate for the etched out area on the left side of the knife where you could flip the pocket clip if you desired to do so. the G10 is always nice and the black/ green blend is pretty cool looking. With these two changes...its a 5.
