BO01BP0008: Boker Plus Fire Ant Flipper - Red

Boker Plus

Fierce, efficient, and ready for action, the Boker Plus Fire Ant lives up to its namesake with compact power and striking design. Its drop-point blade, made from corrosion-resistant 4116 steel with a satin finish, deploys quickly via flipper, while the double detent ball system ensures secure, slipjoint-style operation. The pocket knife stays firmly open during use and closes smoothly with light pressure. Fire-red textured polypropylene handle scales offer a solid grip, complemented by a black backspacer that houses hidden tools like tweezers. Finished with a reversible tip-up clip, the Fire Ant folding knife is a fiery, functional EDC companion.

Pros: None
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Type, Overall Quality
Disappointing - No Lock, Poor Flip.
I am so very disappointed in this knife which I had hoped would be my next lightweight knife for a tackle box or everyday utility. This knife has no locking mechanism, which I've become accustomed to on most flippers in the US - shame on me for not reading the description more carefully. It closes SO easily that it would be a danger for me to carry (being accustomed to locking blades or slip joints with stronger springs like a Swiss Army knife). Also, the flipper action fails to fully open the blade without some wrist snap. This is the least smooth flipping action of any flipper I've owned. The knife feels cheap and is priced way too high for it's qualities. Nope - too many better choices out there.
