BU0110GRS5: 110 Hunter Sport, Black Aluminum with Green Micarta Inlay

Buck Knives

Modern and elite, the 110 Hunter Sport is a Pro EDC version of the 110 Folding Hunter. While possessing many of the traditional features of the classic 110 Folding Hunter, the 110 Hunter Sport is more lightweight and constructed via bolt assembly with Torx screws over standard rivet assembly. The Sport also offers a newly designed, deep carry pocket clip. By utilizing an anodized aluminum frame and OD green canvas Micarta handle scales, the 110's weight is reduced without compromising its quality and durability. To provide the ultimate performance, the Hunter Sport boasts a clip point, S35VN stainless steel blade with dual thumb studs for easy, one-hand opening.

S35VN Steel

S35VN is a high-performance stainless steel known for its excellent balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. Utilizing CPM, S35VN was developed to improve on the existing qualities of S30V, with enhanced roughness and easier sharpening. Highly regarded in the knife industry, this steel is a top choice for both premium folding knives and fixed blades. Its ability to sustain a sharp edge while being relatively easy to maintain makes it ideal for everyday carry and outdoor use.

110 classic vs pro
Great version of an already time tested classic. In comparison the aluminum is much lighter. I like the screw fasteners over the rivets. It can be disassembled if necessary. The handle material has superior moisture resistance. The blade has a bit more pronounced clip. I removed the dual sided thumb stud. I took away from the blades thin profile being used to a classic 110 look. I am looking for a single sided thumb stud to fit without any modification to blade hole. Nice pocket clip. I do like a sheath though. Overall very satisfied. I miss the weight of the brass. If you have little experience with a 110 I would recommend the classic which is readily available and move up to the pro if you like the style. It is a lockback and that is an archaic mechanism

Perfection
I love this knife!! I have always love the Buck 110 when camping and around the house but out in public I don’t like having knives or other items outside the waist belt. I like having them consealed. The Buck 110 Hunter Sport hit it out of the park! Made In The USA, Lighter weight, pocket clip, S35VN steel, and one handed opening! This is now my everyday carry!! Thank you Buck!

110 Perfection
I use this as my EDC when I'm not wearing a belt, as it's lighter than my classic 110 and doesn't require a sheath to carry comfortably. Had no trouble using the thumb studs to open the knife, they works as intended. Haven't tried sharpening the knife yet as it's razor sharp out of the box. I will say that I stropped it on my thigh while wearing a pair of jeans and that only enhanced the edge. The edge looks clean too, I can tell they took extra care sharpening this line of knives over the classic 110 line with the brass bolsters. All in all, with the upgraded steel, lighter weight, and ability to disassemble the knife for cleaning if needed, it's totally worth the $145
