When looking for an EDC knife, one of the most important considerations is accessibility to bring the knife to bear quickly. The Pyrite uses a combination of its button lock mechanism with ceramic ball bearings in the pivot to make this knife quick to deploy and always ready in hand. The smooth action allows the blade to be flicked open with one hand with a press of the button lock or a flick of the thumb studs. This knife can easily double as a fidget toy with how fun it is to use. The blade is made from AR-SFII, a proprietary steel that takes the toughness of AR-RPM9 and adds extra edge retention. The handles are comfortable to hold and fit well in the hand thanks to its gentle curve and bevel designed to accommodate the index finger. This version of the Pyrite comes with a sand-polished blade, an OD green Micarta handle, and a pocket clip that allows it to be discreetly carried with you wherever you may go.

Edge retention is better, overall lighter!
I’ve used it solid for about 3 weeks now, but he new steel seems to be holding better than the old ar-rpm9, and I got a hardness of around 58-59 on my Rockwell.. the function is great and it’s super duper light.. and I wouldn’t consider it OD GREEN, it looks more like a brownish natural micarta. The pattern is insanely grippy especially if your pocket is sweaty at all.. overall I’ve owned like 20 pyrites. For the money this is def worth it… it’s outperforming the old stuff for sure. 👍
