CS21TTL: 21TTL 4" Talwar Folding Knife - Black G10

Cold Steel

During the 1800's the British Empire was hell-bent on gobbling up as much of the Indian sub-continent as they could, seizing dominion with massive firepower and the point of the bayonet. But when the British attempted to subdue the Sikhs and other martial clans they received a very rude awakening! Suddenly soldiers and cavalrymen alike began literally losing their heads – not to mention their arms and legs- to a fearful Indo-Persian sword called the Talwar! With its razor-sharp broad, curved blade it stopped the British cold in many battles and inflicted unheard-of losses and the most ghastly wounds imaginable. Now, almost two hundred years later Cold Steel has harnessed the fearsome cutting power of one of the world's most renowned swords in a tactical folder that we believe is truly worthy of the name Talwar.

Designed by celebrated custom knife-maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson, the largest of the diverse Talwar series boasts the widest blade available (measuring a full 2" wide!). Flat ground, with a continuously curved cutting edge from choil to the upswept point, offers cutting and piercing power hitherto unavailable in a folding knife.

To compliment the Talwar's razor edge and lethal point, Cold Steel developed a truly exceptional handle. Made from American G10, its textured and contoured pistol grip handle features strategically placed finger grooves for comfort and safety, and to further protect your precious fingers from this formidable blade, they equipped the Talwar with the tried and tested Tri-Ad lock.

Faster on the draw than any switchblade, the Talwar comes equipped with Andrew Demko's revolutionary ambidextrous thumb plate. By draw-snagging the knife on a pocket the awesome power of the Talwar can be in your hand at the speed of lightning!

Very good!
It is beautiful. It is light, because there is no metal liners, just G10, as strong as metal. It fits in my hand perfectly (I think I have common average hand). It's lock is solid as a rock, a bit hard to unlock for the first time.It is fully ambidextrous - second clip for the left side is in the box.

Work horse
I've had this knife for only a few days, but so far it's been tough as nails. It's razor sharp out of the box, the tri-ad lock is rock solid, and the g-10 handle is light weight but can handle anything. And I love how textured it is, no slippage at all. I was carrying the Cold Steel Mini AK-47 for about a year as my EDC, and was never let down a single time. I've owned and thoroughly used Cold Steel knives and tools for years, and have always been impressed. I decided I wanted to carry a slightly larger pocket knife for my EDC, and was immediately attracted to the Talwar due to its sleek design features. I love the belly of the blade and what feels like a custom fitted handle. It was well worth the two weeks wait for it to become available, and when I could finally purchase it, it arrived at my door in 3 days. I'm highly satisfied with knifecenter.com, as per usual. I would definitely recommend this knife.

Some what okay...
I'm a big fan of quick draw/open pocket knives and this one is a bit more than I need for slicing pallet wrap and cutting banding straps but overall it's a really good knife to have in your selection. The drawing aspect takes some practice and this knife will def tear up your pocket but all my knife carrying pants are worn anyway so nbd. I'm not a big fan of full belly, drop pt slicing knives as I prefer the immediate 'bite' of a half serrate for immediate raw cutting power so don't let my solo opinion sway you away from this knife. The ergonomics of the handle combined w/the blade angle really, really put this knife in your hand...when you grip it you feel as if almost nothing could rip it from your grasp. It would be PERFECT for skinning. Any amount of blood or slime will not affect your grip and you could make short work of small or big game. Blade dulled on me fairly quickly but the factory angle is superbly razor sharp...tbh I'll prob go w/a more durable angle for the resharp tho. I regret paying the price I did for it tbh...I know of two very reliable good quality knives I could have bought for the price of this one but...balance is ok on the knife as well; also came w/am extra clip for left handsets which I thought was kwl...overall I'd say if you have the extra income and can afford a good skinning knife go ahead...otherwise keep shopping. Unlock is extremely difficult!!!
