Cold Steel

The Cold Steel SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) was built with one aim in mind, to produce the toughest multi-purpose survival tool in the industry. A knife you can truly trust with your life!

This practical and tactical fixed blade was immediately embraced by the Military and Special Forces community – and issued by the Navy SEALs for BUDS training - who appreciated the SRK's versatility and durability in even the worst conditions. 

This classic design is now available with SK-5 high carbon steel. It is the Japanese equivalent of American 1080, a high carbon steel with carbon between 0.75%-0.85% and 0.60%-0.90% manganese. As quenched, it has a hardness near HRC 65 and produces a mixture of carbon rich martensite with some small undissolved carbides. The excess carbide increases abrasion resistance and allows the steel to achieve an ideal balance of very good blade toughness with superior edge holding ability.

I would use this knife for hunting and camping, The blade is thick carbon steel so batoning it is no problem. You can get it sharp enough to shave, I don't recommend this you might cut your head off.The sheath is good and the knife stays in unless you want it out.Only God gets a 5.Have you looked up John 3:17? Another thing about the knife is if somehow you mess it up, I don't know how maybe leave it in a campfire all night, just get another one . They are cheap in price.

Seems decent
So far seem good haven't taken it camping or any hard use .. just used around the house and break of few boxes and other small chores .. but for those saying it's hard to get out of sheath try harder .. I can easily get knife out with my non-dominant hand with easy .. .

I love this knife so much that I bought 6 of them.
The handle is nicely shaped and grippy. It holds a edge really well. The sheath is awesome and I love the features. For propperly drawing your knife place your hand on the handle and your thumb on the spine side of the sheath. Push forward with your thumb and the knife unsnaps from the sheath. It doesn't take 2 hand's at all. You just have to be smarter than what you are working with.
