Description

HO24170: X1-Microflip Folding Knife, Matte Black

Hogue

The Microflip features Hogue's robust button lock mechanism along with their patent-pending blade retention device. This unique instrument retains the blade in the closed position allowing the user to create stored up kinetic energy culminating in the firing of the blade. With an intuitive press of the lock button, the knife can be easily closed with one-hand without placing fingers in the path of the closing blade like standard liner lock flippers. This knife contains no springs. It is a manual flipper yet acts surprisingly like an automatic.

Designed specifically as an everyday carry pocket knife, the X1-Microflip is the first knife in the Hogue line with a blade measuring under three inches. The 2.75" drop point blade profile comes with a stonewash tumbled or with a black Cerakote finish. Made from 0.120" thick CPM-154 steel, the blade offers superior corrosion resistance while providing excellent edge retention. It is cryogenically heat treated to 57-59HRC then hand sharpened and honed.

The Type III hard coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum frame is sculpted for an ergonomic grasp and comfortable one-handed deployment. The frame is patterned with an escalating indent texture for additional grip traction and includes a pointed impact pommel. Models are available in matte finished black, gray, flat dark earth or aquamarine. The frame includes a reversible clip and filler plate for ambidextrous tip up carrying.

All Hogue Knives are designed by former Recon Marine Allen Elishewitz and made in the USA by Hogue, Inc.

Good choice!
I was looking for a smaller, quality EDC folder to replace my aging Boker Trance (which I love). This appeared to be best candidate for me, and I am very pleased with what I received from knifecenter.com! Hogue's Microflip is great! It's the right size, smallish. The handle is comfortable. The blade is sharp, great shape, great material. Rides in the pocket comfortably. Locks open smoothly. Feels sturdy. The quality is easy to recognize. Overall, just a great design. If you're looking for a big folder or if you have large hands, this probably won't work for you.
