Hogue Knives

Hogue Knives are built around precise engineering and stringent manufacturing practices that equal exceptional performance. The team is lead by Master Toolmaker Jim Bruhns and his partner Neil Hogue. Each knife that leaves the floor leverages the know-how of three generations of passionate craftsmen who are also end users.

The patterns they produce are designed by former Recon Marine, martial artist and custom knifemaker Allen Elishewitz. Allen's real-world experience both in the shop and on the field ensures that the designs are functional and ergonomically sound.

Hogue Manual folders represent the culmination of their capabilities and experience resulting in a superior balance of fit, finish and function. They have been engineered from the ground up to tackle any cutting tasks you put them to.

All of the materials are sourced in the USA. The blade of the X1-Microflip is made from CPM-154 stain resistant steel that is cryogenically heat treated to a Rockwell of 57-59 then hand honed to a razor-sharp edge. CPM-154 offers superior corrosion resistance while providing excellent edge retention and a high degree of toughness.

The high-quality aluminum handle offers exceptional wear resistance and beauty. Each grip is carefully sculpted for outstanding ergonomics, ensuring that your Hogue knife is comfortable and secure in use.

When deployed, the X1-Microflip is held open with a tough, yet smooth operating button lock. Although a capable mechanism on its own, it's backed up with an additional manual safety that locks the knife open for peace of mind during harder use.

Beneath the scales, the button lock is mounted into an innovative, recessed stainless steel "bolster plate" to ensure rigidity and long wear. The robust, custom-made hardware on all moving parts is oversized and heat treated. Be confident that every aspect of your Hogue folding knife has been refined to offer the best possible longevity and performance.

I don't buy expensive knives - till this one
This is the first nice knife I've purchased. I really love it. The selling point was that it's made in America, and I really like the color and size/design. It's super sharp, easy to open and close, and has worked very nicely for everything I've needed it for. I carry it most places because you never know when you might need a knife. Being female my pockets are typically smaller, and this knife fits nicely in them. It's a good all purpose knife - I'm happy I have it. Now I just have to not lose it - because that's why I typically would buy cheap knives.

Excellent pocket knife!!
This knife deserves all the credit it can have, and then some. Hogue knives are looked over, sadly underrated yet marvelously produced. I know some people (including myself) would like to see them offer higher end blade steels in their knives; but you can't fault CPM-154. It has a finer grain structure than 154CM, and it's an all around good steel. One of Benchmade's best sellers that they issue to the military sports 154CM. This knife is just, WOW. I can't get over how impressed I am. The centering is perfect, the blade edge is super sharp, the handle scales are gorgeous, the button lock is rock solid and it's very smooth to open and close. The jimping could be a little more aggressive on the spine and flipper but it's not bad. It fits very comfortably in the hand as well. Also, in case anyone was wondering, the customer service here is very helpful and friendly!
