Maserin

The long and lasting collaboration with Attilio Morotti “Atti” continues, one of the best and most valued Italian knife makers. After more than 10 years of making knives with Atti, we feel like saying that it's not just a working relationship, but also one of friendship, collaboration, and mutual respect. This new project called AM6 is a very elegant EDC knife made with the best materials. Particular is the clip positioned on the back instead of on one side of the grips. The AM6 comes with either G10 or titanium handles scales shaped in a slim style and grooves that aid in gripping the knife. A sturdy D2 blade is deployed manually with a thumb stud and is assisted with thrust bearings to make a smooth action.

This is a great knife for the money. Good ergonomics. Well made with good materials and beautiful. It is hard to open one handed but if you push down then out it's manageable.. won't be disappointed when you open it's box.

EDC Excellence With Some Quirks
I used to carry wide, thick, broad bladed knives but over the past three years I started gravitating towards longer slender folders like this one. The only things that will upset me with a new knife are if there's blade play and it doesn't cut. I'm also picky about pocket clip style or placement but that varies depending on the design of the knife. I didn't think it would be an issue with this knife, but it is one of the quirks of the design. To retrieve the knife from my pocket I have to turn it sideways. But it's so slender and sleek that it isn't difficult to do. All the handle edges are smooth and rounded. Another thing to note is that deployment for lefties like me is also very difficult. There is no relief cutout on the lockbar side to access the thumb disk, only on the show side scale. I can still do it by shoving my thumbnail under the disk. But righties might have issue too because the edges on the thumb disk are smooth and also rounded. It's easy for the thumb to slip off without deploying the blade. One-handed opening isn't as big a deal with me as it used to be so this doesn't bother me as much. Overall I'm very happy with the design aesthetics and build quality. I just like having a nice knife in my pocket that's going to be solid and cut well. This knife delivers.
