RCBRKR1DT: Desert Tan Zancudo Frame Lock Folder

BRK Designed by ESEE

Zancudo is Spanish for Mosquito but besides its compacts size, we cannot think of another similarity between this knife and the buzzing pest. The Zancudo was designed by the survival experts over at ESEE Knives, Mike Perrin and Jeff Randall, and was produced by Blue Ridge Knives. It's an amazingly slim, well-built folder that you won't have a problem carrying and using every day. The frame lock mechanism and FRN handle, with the solid, full-length steel liners, provide serious strength to this small folder. The pocket clip is reversible but only set up for right-hand carry and the knife weighs in at exactly three ounces. It's a folder we're very excited about here at the KnifeCenter because it gets almost everything right in a folding knife at a price point you're sure to be pleased with.

Lil’ Workhorses
Love these Zancuda folders. They are handy as, all get out. Takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’. Small enough to stash almost anywhere, but capable as a larger RAT folder. Feels good in the hand. Easy opening. Nice, thin blade for slicing, but thick enough for strength. Aus 8 steel keeps them practically maintenance free. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> These are great to stash in a ditty bag, glove compartment of vehicle, pouch on large camp knife, watch pocket, purse, or bug-out bag. I purchased this one for the pouch on my recent purchase of Ontario 125th Anniversary RTAK II Fixed (excellent camp knife/survival sheath, available @ KnifeCenter.com). I’m making a Scout Concept Sheath of it, for times when you need to, “go to ground,” and drop the bug-out bag, and travel light and fast, but need survival basics. I have these Zancudas in many of my large fixed blade sheath’s front pouches. Great combo. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Great design/ergo/value knife for the price. Very capable.

Nice Small and Slim Folder
Firstly I appreciate how slim and low profile this folder is. Definitely a nice small folder to carry around town or take on a backpacking trip. Opening takes a little practice but once you "got it" the knife really flies open! I personally really like the ergos of this little knife. Anything you would expect a folder of this size to do for you, this one will handle. Solid lockup when open, and decent edge retention for AUS-8.

Cons: Lock Ease of Use
Excellent knife
Pretty lighweight knife, the blade is thin so it is a very good slicer. AUS8 retains the edge well. The handle feel is very good. The only flaw is the the locking system. The liner is impossible to disengage with the thumb, I have to use the nail. Overall, I love this knife though.
