ESEE Knives

Taking design cues from the famed ESEE-3, Izula, and more recent Sencillo models, the Pacaya is your new go-to utility fixed blade. Crafted from 1/8" thick full-tang CPM-3V tool steel, it can handle a beating between sharpening sessions and includes a corrosion-resistant coating. However, it is still advised always to clean your blade and keep the edge oiled for the best results. The wide drop point blade transitions smoothly into the handle, placing your fingers right next to the cutting edge for more precise cuts with less effort. Its rounded handle creates no hot spots, making it a joy to use extensively around the campsite, on the hunt, or as a daily carry companion. Throw on some straps for scout carry or a metal clip for pocket carry and you're off to the races.

Pros: size, ergonomics, blade shape, edge geometry, blade steel, coating, handle material, ESEE warrantyCons: kydex sheath (pancake style) could have been... better? Fit was sticky, belt clip seemed... undependable? I just took the hardware for the belt attachment and used it to create a retention adjustment in the eyelet nearest the sheath opening. I like the knife enough that I'll pay to have a more compact taco-style kydex sheath made by Armatus.Some will say "where's the jimping," but there's plenty of handle to fit a full grip. Personally I've not missed the jimping, though I wouldn't have minded it if it was there in the first place.The knife feels and works great, just wish the sheath was up to par with the knife. Seems to be the case for a lot of knives.
