The Izula-II is the same as the standard Izula except it has a half-inch of length added to the handle and includes full Micarta handle scales. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.

2nd Izula
I got my second Izula from KC (The first ended up being an improptu gift to my electrician nephew) and have to say the addition of the micarta scales really makes this knife MUCH more comfortable. There is nothing not to like about this knife. It should be a vital part of every 24 hour bag.The tip and edge are both sharp and strong enough for serious work in such a small package. I mostly use mine for notching, peg making, cord cutting, and firestarting. I have the ESEE 6 for larger tasks like batoning, but find this is a lot more maneuverable for detail tasks.
