SOG

Our technical assisted folding knife line, stands out by virtue of simplicity and minimalism. It doesn't try to be the biggest or the loudest in the crowd. It is unobtrusive but always there when you need it. Constructed from a single piece of steel, SlimJim is just that, the slimmest assisted knife in the world. Start to open the blade, and let SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) finish the action with a bang, using one of the surest assisted technologies out there. Tactile bumps and cutouts aid in control while all features are purposeful and functional. The patent-pending safety is used to insure the retention of the blade in the handle as well as acts as a double lock in the open position. The stealth carry clip is reversible. SlimJim, don't let its size fool you!

Cons: Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Lock Ease of Use
sharpest knife I ever bought
The knife has a really slim profile, and is extremely sharp. My only issues that I found was that the space between the blade, and the handle create a possible pinch point in the process of folding it up.Also the thumb knob on the blade could be a bit taller, and larger in general to make it easier to open.Beyond that, the knife is really sharp, and has held a good keenedge even cutting paper, plastic, and paracord.

Awkward and sharp in the wrong places
I bought it for its slim profile and can't find a reason to carry it, or even use it because its so awfully sharp and angular in the hand or pocket. I tried to carry it for a week or so, thinking it would grow on my, but no there are so many better options.

Assist not really necessary
Carries deep and flat. Good, sharp blade. Weighs in at 74 gr. Surprisingly good in hand, but since it is thin steel all around, it might not be the best for prolonged use. Lockup seems solid with no play in the blade. The "assist" part is far from smooth. I think this is partly from a lack of polish where the back of the blade meets the lock. Been working the knife a little and it seems better now.Would be nice if SOG made a version without the spring and just a nail notch instead of thumblers. It would be lighter and without the "assist" which seems the weakest point of the design.
