Crucible Industries' CPM-15V is a state-of-the-art particle metallurgy tool steel that offers extraordinary wear resistance. Its remarkable alloy composition includes almost 15 percent vanadium, which produces an exceptionally high volume of vanadium carbides in its microstructure. In industrial applications, this makes it a viable alternative to solid carbide in the production of intricate tool designs. In knife blades, these properties translate to phenomenal cutting performance and exceptional edge retention.
Spyderco proudly stands alone in the knife industry by featuring CPM-15V in their limited-edition Sprint Run knives. In addition to showcasing this elite steel, the blades of these US-made models are further optimized by a specialized heat-treating protocol developed by renowned custom knifemaker Shawn Houston. This process is fine-tuned to achieve the absolute maximum sharpness and edge retention from the steel. The knives in this family are further distinguished by brown peel-ply-textured G10, fiberglass-reinforced co-polymer (FRCP), or fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales and Shawn Houston’s "Triple B" logo laser engraved on the reverse side of the blades.
The Lil' Native Lockback is socially friendly 2.5-inch blade, is full-flat ground, and includes a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole and an index-finger choil for a solid, four-finger grip. It is supported by a linerless handle that includes textured G10 scales, a stainless backspacer, and a precision-machined high-strength lockback mechanism. A broad-based four-position pocket clip allows the knife to be configured for left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry and, along with the knife's other features, makes its carry and operation completely ambidextrous.

Great 5th pocket knife
Great for carrying in a 5th pocket in jeans. Super slicey and form fitting to your hand, with the finger choir feels like a much bigger knife. Definitely note that 15v can patina fast.

Very Nice for a Small Knife
I'm a big fan of the larger Spyderco knives; Manix 2, Military 2, Stretch 2 XL, and PM2. I'm also like CPM-15V steel. I picked up this Lil' Native because it was on sale, and I don't have a suitable small knife. This one is a nice--very well made.

Big lil knife
This is a wonderful little knife with a very strong lock up and solid feel. The size makes it an ideal utility knife for small tasks. The ergonomics are great and make it a pleasure to use. The satisfying click of the action adds a nice fidget factor as well.
