Designed by custom knifemaker and avid outdoorsman Phil Wilson, the Spyderco Sprig is an extremely versatile utility knife purpose designed for processing small game and fish. A faithful adaptation of Wilson's custom-made bird-and-trout design, the Sprig's blade is ground from premium CPM S90V particle-metallurgy stainless steel. This advanced alloy is made with a generous amount of vanadium, which encourages the formation of vanadium carbides within the steel for increased wear resistance. In a knife blade, this translates to an exceptionally keen and long-wearing edge. The steel's high chromium content ensures excellent corrosion resistance, while its full-flat grind and distal taper create outstanding edge geometry for friction-free cutting performance. For maximum strength and deft balance, the Sprig features a full tang flanked by contoured forest green G10 handle scales that are attached with multiple pins and a tubular lanyard hole. Wilson's signature integral guard ensures a comfortable grip and helps prevent the user's hand from sliding forward during use. For ease of carry in the field, the Sprig comes complete with a custom-molded Boltaron sheath with an adjustable G-Clip' attachment.
