SWEDFNTK2: TK2 Tre Kronor, Thermorun Handle

Fallkniven

Tre Kronor, the Swedish knife series, offers a highly advanced technological solution combined with timeless Swedish design. As the result of a long development process, we are the first company in the world to be able to offer a laminated knife blade in 3G steel, edged with sintered steel, or powder steel. To this edge steel, we have added a resilient, anticorrosive steel which stabilizes the hard centre. This gives a rigid, strong blade that retains its edge extremely well.

These knives are in the Swedish minimalist idiom, where form harmonizes with function. The result is an edged implement that the user will find an easy and accommodating knife — a world-beater from Sweden.

Tre Kronor #2

If price and performance are the deciding factors, then TK2 is the hands-down winner. The secure, comfortable grip and the powerful blade in laminated powder steel form a combination whose value is unparalleled in the world. It is a utility knife which one can rely on and which will perform for you through thick and thin.

Truly superb knife.
Wasn't really looking for it, but this knife is a worthy replacement for my beloved forty five year old Finish puukko. Modernized and improved in a number of meaningful ways. Retains all the virtues of the classic design, but with a more ergonomic, non-slip handle, a bolster that has a finger guard, and even better steel. Every square millimeter of this knife is designed and executed to perfection.

Fallkniven TK2 - seriously good
Even before you unwrap the TK2 the packaging is screaming quality and removing the heavy presentation box lid the lucky owner is treated to a cascade of quality leather aroma, the three crowns emblazoned sheath patiently waiting to receive the beautiful offering designated TK2. Lifting from the custom velvet moulding the knife has a good weight and sits very well in the hand, the handle contours predictably positioned exactly right. The wonderfully sculpted blade with its distal curves begs to be used and it certainly looks like it could tackle any task you are likely to throw at it - at 4mm thick at its widest point it is built for action. I think the blade profile is just about spot-on but any knife is only as good as the sharp section and the TK2 is frighteningly sharp and thanks to the G3 laminate steel construction it should stay that way for much longer than conventional knives.Although the black Thermorun handle could be described as the plainest of the TK offerings it is ideally suited to hunting tasks such as deer gralloching (gutting) where a hygienic knife is mandatory. In summing up the TK2 is a credit to the knife maker's craft with first rate materials and superb construction and although the knife has a top end price tag quality has never come cheap however this one is well worth the money.
