FT12494: Companion Heavy Duty, Military Green

Morakniv

A tough fighter.

If you need to hammer on the knife it needs to be very strong. Morakniv has thought this through with a three-layer thick cast molding, and an extra thick blade, which literally, stands up against the hammer. If you choose the fluorescent orange color, you can find the knife quickly when you need it. The military green model is more discrete and blends in with surroundings. The Companion Heavy Duty is the optimal companion for rigorous adventures and challenges. The robust handle and somewhat blunter 27° angle edge give it maximum edge resiliency. The blade is extra thick (3.2 mm) to be able to withstand all kinds of pressure and it's made from Swedish carbon steel, which is simple to sharpen. Remember that carbon steel needs maintaining though, so make it a habit of wiping the knife and oiling the blade after usage.

Features

  • Knife blades of high carbon steel can be hardened to HRC 59-60 giving best possible sharpness to lowest price. Knives made from above mentioned steel grades will after some use achieve a dullish grey finish. However, this will not negatively affect the quality of the blade. On the contrary it will somewhat improve the resistance to corrosion.

THE BEST...OUT OF THE BOX
WOW....this HD Companion right out of the box is SHARP. I unfortunately purchased other Morakniv Knives of smaller size from a competitor of yours and wasn't as sharp as this. I think that's sad...which is why you receive 5 stars. We can't always get it all the time as sharp as this, but I'm wanting Morakniv to ramp up a tighter Quality Assurance on razor surgical precision sharpness. That way, I don't have to sharpen and hone up, stropping the cutting edge blade to my standards. And my standards are zero tolerance, all conformity 100%, surgical sharp like a scalpel. That way, out in the field use, I can touch it up and ready to go again. I'm a fan of Carbon Steel, especially in these because I force patina the blade (most my smaller blades[Except Garberg, Bushcraft Black, and Eldris], I sharpen the spine to strike it on a ferro rod); this one I'm leaving it alone...I got another idea on plans for this Kamrat(Companion in Swedish).Thank you for this knife model and for the free shipping. I'll be making sure for future business together with you all. This knife will be awesome.

Great camping knife
This knife goes camping with me on the motorcycle or back backing (light weight) and does everything I desire it to do. Cuts wood, cordage, meat and vegetables just fine. A pretty indestructible sheath that clamps the knife very well. It won't come out accidentally. The blade is quite sharp, though, I do have a couple of small rust spots, my fault, I'm sure. The grip is sure and comfortable—quite nice. A very capable knife for whatever your purposes and it costs less, far, far less—than anything in its class. The best knife for value that I've ever come across, or frankly, that I'm ever likely going to come across.
