Noted knife writer Jerry Van Cook, wrote in Tactical Knives Magazine: "Tactical Operational Knives (TOPS) have a distinctive look about them. When you see one, you immediately know it's from TOPS because their very essence shouts... all about business..."

On a recent trip to the Peruvian Amazon, Jerry carried the 'Dawn Warrior' and wrote: "la selva (the jungle), however was a real proving ground. The 'Dawn Warrior' was my only blade and the 'Dawn Warrior' was constantly wet with a combination of rain, humid precipitation and human perspiration. In the jungle, it cut everything from paracord, rope and vines to the sleeves off two long sleeve t-shirts." Upon Jerry's return from the jungle, he called TOPS and said "I think it might be even better suited for self defense"... and so the story went on...

Excellent
The first thing you notice is how light yet how solid this knife is. It has a great handle that would seem to work well in any grip style. The sheath is top notch. While I don't pretend to be a knife "guru" by any stretch, you don't have to be to see this is a solid piece of equipment.

Great Knife!
This is a great knife! It is very well designed and is very versatile. It can handle everything from camp chores to cleaning and prepping game. Nice length and thick enough to take punishment. My only issues are: the notch at the base of the blade could be a little deeper to facilitate delicate work (choking up) and the lower part of the lanyard loop is a little sharp and becomes an annoyance for those with bigger hands, especially when working over long periods of time. All in all, great blade!
